How are clinical records kept?
Clinical records are written and kept in accordance with the confidentiality, security and professionalism requirements set by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec.
They contain only the information necessary for clinical follow-up and are protected against any unauthorized access.
Under the Code of ethics of psychologists (sections 20, 23, 31 and 32), the psychologist must:
- ensure the absolute confidentiality of the information collected
- protect the record against loss, theft or unauthorized access
- obtain the client’s free, informed and specific consent before using a technological tool
- and allow the client to refuse such use without any impact on the quality of their care.
With your consent, your psychologist may use Klarify AI, a Canadian artificial intelligence tool compliant with Québec laws on the protection of personal information.
This tool helps write clinical notes more efficiently and improve their accuracy and quality.
In that case, the entire session may be recorded so it can be transcribed by the application.
The recording is encrypted and processed on secure servers in Canada, then deleted after the clinical note is generated.
No data is used to train the artificial intelligence or shared with third parties.
